Style Preference:

I'm a character driven player. This means that I create my characters first, with a particular setting in mind, and figure out what I'm going to do with them as a second priority. Furthermore, it means that my best partners are also character driven, as I'm accustomed to having a pre-existing character to plot with my character.

I've played with many plot driven players before (those who think of a plot they want to play and create characters to suit it) and it can be very successful! It remains a pretty unfair dynamic though, since it means creating a character suited to my particular setting and my specific character. I do encourage partners to create a character they enjoy playing as a first priority and we'll worry about compatability IC, since having one tailor-made to please me feels unusual. It's not always successful, but many partners find throwing together a character suited to my main setting because it's not super different from a run-of-the-mill urban fantasy setting like you'd find in a series like Supernatural or True Blood.

I don't believe in the story driven/sex driven dichotomy, as I suspect that was created by prudes to make them feel superior to people who enjoy erotic RP and the whole RP community ran with it rather than pushing back. Rather, there's the stuff I mentioned above that governs how people plan their RPs, then there's the plot's genre, then the amount of sexual content vs. non-sexual content is decided on the fly, depending on how the characters and players get along. Some plots are more centered around sexual elements than others, but it's not necessarily at the expense of a plot/story. This is enough to explain the kind of RP that I'm interested in. I do understand that some people literally just write sex, without a sense of place or character depth, etc., but I'm not interested in that. I've had people try to do it with me but I always ruin it by asking where the characters are and how they got in, etc., lol.

Post Preference:

Narrative style with dynamic post lengths; my comfort zone is around 300 words, but I can write much more or less depending on a variety of factors. I don't require post matching of my partners.

Method Preference:

This site is primarily being used to search for Discord RP. However, I'll put contact info for a few sites below; if you use any of these to RP, I'll probably be happy to RP with you on them! Do note that, in the event of using non-chat-based methods (like email or f-list notes), I prefer to have some live chat options for plotting and stuff!

On Aesthetics:

I prefer some level of realism in character references. While the presence of cartoony references isn't automatically disqualifying, they do leave something of a bad taste in my mouth. Note that I never enjoy AI reference images. Seeing them won't be a dealbreaker in and of itself, but do note that, immediately upon seeing they're AI, I'm going to pretend they don't exist. Make sure your posts (or, if relevant, your profile) contain detailed descriptions of your character or I'll quickly forget what they're meant to look like. With regard to posting on forums and the like, I usually do text-only posts with paragraph breaks and basic formatting. I'd need a lot of hand-holding to make them look pretty!

On Decorum:

I'm one of those compassionate folks who doesn't like when slurs and generally insensitive language is thrown about! This applies mostly out of character, but please note that I also lack any fetishes for degradation, etc., so any in character bigotry or insensitivity will be treated as a bad thing. This doesn't mean you can't play assholes, it just means they're gonna get treated like assholes until they improve, yeah?
